Hi

thanks

Paul

    Hi Paul

Thanks for your post. Right now it is not possible to do this directly in Goalscape Desktop. We intend to integrate Goalscape with various calendars - initially Google Calendar; later iCal and Outlook.

Future features also include an advanced 'tag and filter' function, which will enable searches by due date; and a Timeline view, which will display such information graphically.

In the meantime there is a workaround that is not too arduous: you can use File > Export to generate an html document that contains a text listing of all goals and their attributes (including Start and End dates). This opens in your browser so you can use the Edit > Find function to search for the relevant date.

We are also working on an enhanced reporting function that will permit editing the HTML report (eg to return a list of "goals due by 12/31/10 for which Alf or Betty are responsible").

See the relevant goals in the public goalscape 'Make Goalscape even better' in our online collaboration tool Goalscape Connect.

It's a public goalscape so everyone can see what we are planning and even add their own feature requests.

You can sign in to Goalscape Connect preview using your existing Goalscape Desktop credentials – then you can upload or create your own goalscapes and share them with others (if you do not want to make your goalscapes public, your contacts can register for a free preview account even if they are not Goalscape customers).

    May you achieve great goals!

    Richard

Thanks for your reply Richard - since we know that Goals ought to be SMART, could you give an idea of when such features may be implemented?

    thanks

    Hi Paul

Haha - yes, good point... It's really a question of priorities for us: as you can see we have quite a few different new functions to add; and the order in which we do them is a business decision.

We have been working very hard on the new Infopoints, spellcheck and restore functions; as well as on Goalscape Connect. Right now, for Goalscape Desktop we are focusing on the advanced tag & filter function and enhanced reporting (which will allow searches by date); and calendar integration comes somewhere after them.

So my best estimate for delivery of calendar integration is Q3 2010.

We are also agile and flexible though, so if a customer wants to pay us to develop a particular feature we can promote it to the top of the list... If that is something that might interest you, please post again and I shall contact you direct!

    All the best

    Richard

    Hi Paul

OK, that's fine then! Keep an eye on our website, blogs and email newsletters for updates on our future plans.

And thanks again for your question/suggestion; if you have any more, please feel free to add them to 'Make Goalscape even better' (please add your username or initials to the Notes) – or post here again.

May we all achieve great goals!

    Richard
