Adobe Air issue with running Goalscape on Mac OS Catalina

Hi!
So i purchased Goalscape desktop last year sometime, and just upgraded my Mac OS to Catalina the other day. I got the message Adobe AIR. framework is damaged and can't be opened." So i then uninstalled Adobe Air thinking it was damaged... and then re-installed it fresh from the Adobe site. When I rerun Goalscape I get the same error.

So then I looked in your support page and found the post response written by Richard on Jan 2, 2020 (there is no help support reference to a post that I can see to refer to so this is the best way for me to identify it. - nor a way to follow up on it, that is why i am starting a new question...) I followed the steps (and will attach screen shot). I am still having the same issues. (I just blindly followed the steps in using Terminal. It is not clear to me if the response on the second command was what was expected) I also got an additional message which I will also attach.

I would really appreciate help / a workaround because I do use the app daily.
Thank you!

    Hello Gina

Sorry you have had trouble – thanks for those screenshots.

Apple really should issue warnings about potential effects of updates to the OS!

Yes: the 'Adobe AIR Framework damaged' error message definitely confirms an issue with your local Adobe AIR environment.

Since you are using macOS 10.15 Catalina, AIR is quarantined by default, so you will need to unquarantine it to allow it to run. The full step-by-step instructions for doing this are on our Known Issues page under 'Issues with Adobe AIR under macOS Catalina'. Note that once you have completed the unquarantine action, you can check that it was successful. If not, you need to repeat the process, ensuring you enter the characters at the Terminal prompt exactly as shown in those instructions.

If after a successful unquarantine operation you still see an error message about a 'damaged installer file' or 'certification issue', you will need to do the 'uninstall and reinstall Goalscape Desktop and Adobe AIR' fix, instructions for which are also on our Known Issues page (under 'Problems downloading, installing or activating Goalscape Desktop'). Note that to uninstall AIR you need to use the special 'Adobe AIR Uninstaller' application in Applications > Utilities.

Should problems persist, please post again with the following details:

    • Installed version of Adobe AIR
    • Confirmation that the unquarantine operation was successful (screenshot of the Terminal window after completing Step 3)
    • Screenshots of any error messages – and if there is a 'Details' button please click it and C&P the full text here.

All the best – and stay safe

    Richard

    Hi Richard,
Thank you for the links! The terminal instructions did seem to work this
time. it even prompted me for a password which I would take as a good sign
    perhaps :-)

so i was able to run Goalscape and it seems we are good for now! Phew!
    Thanks again!
