How do I set print settings?

I have a laser printer and the scale of the PDF looks great, but the top and left margins are far too wide.

    Hi Bill

Good to hear from you again.

    PDF margin issue

Unfortunately this is a Known Issue in the Legacy Goalscape Online app in some environments.

The fix is to export your Goalscape as a .docx (where the margins are correct), then open it in Word (or any other Word Processing application) and Save As .pdf – or if you just want a hard copy you can print it straight from Word.

    New Goalscape Web App

In case you missed our announcements, we released the new web app in November. It's back in the browser and you can login with your existing Goalscape credentials: your subscription is fully valid there.

Because the web app is a separate product, it accesses a different set of goalscapes. So if you want to see what your existing (Online) goalscapes look like in the 'new world' you can easily transfer them – see the video + instructions on our blog.

    Free webinar

Last year you mentioned you wanted to get into Goalscape more, so you may be interested in our free webinar on Olympic-Level Performance through Visual Goal Setting. It's TODAY January 20 at 16:00 UTC – you can register here. There will be short presentation, then a Q&A session – we'd love to hear your use case.

    All the best

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Would you recommend I switch back to the web app?

    Also...

How would I print from the web app? I don't see all the menu options like in the desktop app.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Bill

Yes: the web app is the future! As well as the updated UI, it already does things that are not possible in the Legacy apps – and the new codebase opens up more options for the future (including integrations with third-party tools).

There are however some features in Online that are not yet supported in the web app – one of them (as you found) being an Export facility.

So right now you can Print your Goal List from the Focus sidebar (or Export it via the clipboard), and take a screenshot of the goal map. We are working hard on the 'Export' function: that goal has a 'Next' tag in our development goalscape!

For more details about the differences (and an idea of our schedule) see the Current and Future Features page.

So if the web app is still missing some feature that you consider essential for your use of Goalscape, you can continue using Online until that feature is supported. Your Goalscape subscription is of course valid for the web app as well as for Online, then you can 'migrate to the new world' by transferring your goalscapes.

If you need anything else please post again.

    Best

    Richard
