If goals could have "dont start before" dates, and we could filter out the goals that cant be started yet, we could focus better on the goals that can be worked on now.
A variation would be dependencies, "dont start goal until goal xxx is completed" that would be very powerful

    Hello Stephen

    Thanks for your suggestions.

In Goalscape Desktop and Goalscape Online you can set dates and filter by Due date: click the 'wrench' icon at top right and check the Enable Start/Due dates option(s). When you have selected dates, you can filter by Due date in the Highlight Sidebar (see the video here) (we may extend this to include Start dates).

As far as dependency is concerned, you can set up a 'chain' of subgoals in clockwise order on the parent. Then you can just look at the goal map to see whether the preceding goal is complete. See also the online Help ('Setting Importance' and 'Tracking Progress' pages under 'Goal Details').

You can also set the Due date on each goal as the Start date for the next one and use Tags to associate goals in different areas. In Goalscape Online each goal (and each field within each goal) has its own URL, so you can include hyperlinks in the Notes field to indicate dependencies.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us: we always listen to our customers and the posts here influence our development priorities and scheduling.

    Richard
