There should be a simple time-tracker. Why? This way we will be able where our time is being spent and on what goals.
It should ask: ACTIVITY/FOR WHAT GOAL/ Start & End Time. At the end of the day, we will then be able to see where we spent our time in a circular graph like how our goals are displayed. It will show us where we are focusing our time and energy and where we possibly need to spend more time because that area is smaller than the rest.

    Hello Luis

Thanks very much for taking the time to post your suggestion here.

We are indeed considering a time tracking system (with alerts), possibly by integration with a Calendar.

Remember though that Goalscape is really a visual goal management solution, rather than a task management or time logging tool. It is essentially goal-oriented: the idea is that as you work you record your progress towards achieving your goals (according to the metrics you have defined to measure your results), rather than just the time spent on tasks (which may or may not have been productive).

The visual format means you can see your progress (shading) advancing across the goal map, which allows you to celebrate your successes and reinforces your motivation. And you can see at a glance what you need to focus on next: it's any large goal area where progress is slow.

Note too that you can gain a clear view of your current goals (and any that are particularly urgent): set Start and Due dates on your goals, then filter them by Due Date in the Highlight sidebar – or generate a Goal List, select Table View and re-order your list by Due date (you can also export a CSV of your Goal List via the clipboard). We are working on a way to automate color-coding or Goal Marks according to user settings (eg red for goals approaching their Due date).

You may also be interested in Emmett Lazich's blog article Getting Things Done – with or without Dates, in which he explains how he uses Goalscape inconjunction with an online Calendar and ad hoc note-taking.

    Enjoy the journey!

    Richard
