Resetting the Registry
Where there is an existing version of Goalscape Online or Goalscape Desktop installed it will have its own Registry information on the hard drive, which may affect installation or activation of the latest version. The fix is to reset the Registry for a fully 'clean' installation.
Please note that changing the Registry requires Admin access to your computer's Operating System. Even if you have Admin access, the directories may also be Hidden. To access all the relevant directories:
To View the AppData folder (Windows 7+) or Application Data folder (Windows XP) in your account:
In the file manager select your [user_ID] folder, click View > Options > Change folder and search options
In the popup select the View tab
Under Files and folders, check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives'.
To Unhide your Library:
Click the Spotlight icon (magnifying glass top right of your screen)
Enter 'terminal' and click the 'Terminal' option when offered
In Terminal, enter the following text:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Then press Enter.
The next time you go into Finder, your Library folder and its subfolders will be visible and available.
Once you have access to the relevant area(s), the steps to ensure a clean installation are:
Uninstall the Goalscape app (Online or Desktop)
Clear the Registry: delete the folders that have the form com.goalscape.app.GoalscapeOnline or com.goalscape.app.GoalscapeDesktop. Depending on your Operating System these are in one of the following locations:
In Windows 7 - 10:
In Windows XP
C:/Documents and Settings/Users/[user__ID]/Application Data/Adobe/AIR/ELS/com.goalscape.app.Goalscape[Online/Desktop]
C:/Documents and Settings/Users/[user_ID]/Application Data/com.goalscape.app.Goalscape[Online/Desktop]
In macOS (any version):
Download and install the app you need from our Download page – the Goalscape Online installers are in the upper box; the Goalscape Desktop installers are in the lower box.
