attached files

Hi,

I'm a new user of goalscape and I think it's a very useful and powerful tool for my time management and project development control.
I've just one problem: attached files. When I attach a .jpg, for instance, its no problem (see attached files), but when I try to attach office files, such as excel spreadsheets or word documents, i get them attached, but I can't open them. Is it normal? Am I doing something wrong? Should I change some settings, or maybe I just should install the aplication again?

Thank you very much.

    Hi Marius

Thanks for your positive feedback - sorry that you have been having trouble.

You should be able to open Attachments by double-clicking the file icon or the filename in the Attachment field - what happens when you do that? If you do not have AIR 2.0 installed, the file may open through your default browser rather than in its native application. You can download AIR 2.0 here.

In case that does not help, I have notified our development team so they can investigate this issue. Please could you also confirm the OS you are using.

    All the best

    Richard

    Hi Marius,

do not get irritated by the missing file icon. We have included all file icons yet. But you should be able to open any file. After a resent update of AIR 2.0, the files now open via your webbrowser (at least on the mac they do). If you are using a PC, then it might not work. We will release an update next week that will fix the problem. Among other fixes it will also include printing, pdf exporting and a facility to equalize all subgoals.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we do our best to release the update soon.

    All the best, Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

I have Air 2.0 already installed. I can open spreadsheets and word
documents, but also a firefox window, which I'm not sure it should be the
    correct behaviour.
Don't worry, I'm sure you will get to fix all these things in further
    versions.
As a project manager I learned to be patient.

Thank you very much for your attention.

    Best,

    Marius Roman

    Hi Marius

Thanks for your patience. We particularly value feedback from PM experts like you, who have a good perspective for comparing Goalscape with other tools (both in richness of information captured and in clarity of representation/communication).

We have recently introduced a special Feedback forum. You can post your suggestions and vote on those of others – and we will take such votes into consideration when deciding on our priorities for future development work.

    Enjoy the journey!

    Richard

    Hi Marius

The latest Updates issued today have fixed the issue with opening attached files in their native applications on double-clicking their icons in the Attachments field.

You can now also change the order of the attachments by dragging their icons; and Undo and Redo attachment operations.

I am marking this discussion 'resolved'. Thanks again for your feedback.

    Enjoy the journey!

    Richard
