Hello Dmitry
Sorry you have had trouble.
It appears that you are generating a full PDF Report, rather than the PDF Vector image of the goal map only.
To export only the goal map image, use Download As > PDF Vector image or Download As > PNG bitmap image. There are a few ways you can improve the quality and clarity of your image:
Use the image 'pre-edit' facility in Report Options:
See the attached PDF Vector image export of a large project with outer levels collapsed, goal name fonts increased globally and A0 'paper size' selected.
If you want to look at the lower level 'detail' goals in any area, you can use Focus View (double-click any goal that has subgoals). You can choose to export only the goals covered in that focus, using the relevant selection in Report Options.
In the software itself there is an Infopoint video on Changing Views: click the 'i' button at top right, then click any blue 'i' to watch the video (the Changing Views one is next to the Anchor Bar). You may also be interested in watching our Full tutorial video
Exported PDF Report
Thanks for including the screenshot of your exported PDF report. That file is not 'damaged': rather, those '?????' strings are appearing because you have a different language selected, yet you are using English text (and an English keyboard?). If you select US English or UK English in Settings, then do the export, those grey field labels will appear correctly (they refer to the goal attributes: Importance, Progress, Dates, Responsible, Tags; and other details like Parent, Neighbors and Subgoals).
You can also use the Report Options screen to 'pre-edit' PDF reports (and DOCX, XLSX and CSV exports): select which levels of goals to cover, which attributes are to be included, whether to include empty fields, etc. Click Download As > Show Report Options; then select PDF Report (the leftmost icon) and make your selections – see the last screenshot. Note too that if you are using Focus View, you can choose to report only on the goals covered by that Focus.
Important: if you have selected a paper size greater than A4 (to export a high-resolution image), you need to change it back to A4 in the image options before you make your selections for your PDF report and export it. We are working on a fix for this.
If you still have trouble, or you cannot make the exported reports appear correctly in your selected locale, please post again with the following details:
It would also be really helpful if you could Share that project with us ([email blocked]) as Editor – if it contains confidential information we can sign any NDA you may require.
Once again I am sorry that you have had trouble – I trust that the information in this reply will be useful.
All the best
Richard
