Hi

I am currently testing goal scape for whether I want to buy it or not. Im quite happily so far but there is a major issue for me in the desktop app. I want to add different notes to the different sub goals. After I edited 2 to 3 different notes, the program suddenly starts showing the exact same notes (including note tabs) for every goals and sub goal (always with the text from my last edit). After a restart of the program, the Application shows the different notes I took again.

It is just a very annoying to always restart the program after some editing. I'm looking forward to an update (or maybe a solution?)

    Hello Gian

Sorry that you have had trouble – thanks for contacting us about this: I confirm that I have already escalated it to the development team.

We cannot reproduce this error in our tests here and we have not heard from anyone else having a similar issue. It is likely that the error is due to a problem with your Adobe AIR environment, so the first thing to try is the 'uninstall and reinstall Goalscape Desktop and Adobe AIR' fix: step-by-step instructions are on our Known Issues page.

NB To uninstall AIR completely on a Mac you need to use the special 'Adobe AIR Uninstaller' app, which should be in Applications > Utilities.

If that does not work for you, to help us to investigate further please could you send us the log files for any session in which you experienced this error. On a Mac these are in your Library:

    Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/com.goalscape.app.GoalscapeDesktop.[guid]/Local Store/logging.

(where 'guid' is a long character string)

Just Compress the 'logging' folder in Finder and post the zip folder here (you need to do this during or immediately after a session: each time you start the application the log files are wiped).

NB If in Finder you cannot see a 'Library' folder under your user account, it means it is Hidden (this is the default setting in Mac OS X 10+). So you will need to Unhide your Library before you will be able to find the relevant folders. The steps to do this are:

    1. Click the Spotlight icon (magnifying glass top right of your screen)
    2. Enter 'terminal' and click the 'Terminal' option when offered
    3. In Terminal, enter the following text:

      chflags nohidden ~/Library

      Then press Enter.

The next time you go into Finder, your Library folder will be visible and all its subfolders will be accessible.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation here.

    Richard

    Hello Gian

Quick follow-up: if the issue with Notes text is happening in the web application Goalscape Online (rather than in the standalone Goalscape Desktop software), please ensure that you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed on your machine – and you may need to Enable/Allow it in your browser.

Please note that Safari has many Known Issues with Flash applications, of which Goalscape Online is one. So if you are using Safari, please try again using a different browser (we recommend Google Chrome).

We are moving away from dependence on Flash and the browser – watch out for announcements...

    Best

    Richard
