Downloading application
Dear Sir/ Madam
Could you help me download the install file. I get an error from Adobe air saying that it could not write to the hard disk.
Please help. A prompt response would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards.
Lai

Hello Lai
Sorry you have been having trouble.
Nearly all download and all download and installation issues are due to a problem with the local Adobe AIR environment. So the first thing to try is the 'uninstall and reinstall Goalscape Desktop and Adobe AIR' fix: step-by-step instructions are on our Known Issues page. Please note that to uninstall AIR on a Mac, rather than simply dragging its icon to Trash, you need to run the special 'Adobe AIR Uninstaller' application (usually in Applications > Utilities).
If problems persist, the most likely cause of this particular error is that rather than running the .dmg installer file, you are saving it – and to somewhere other than the default location (which is your Desktop). Please try running/opening the installer file instead; or, if you really want to save it, save it to your Desktop (then run it with a double-click).
You may also wish to try a different browser: we recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Please note too that you can also use the separate (yet compatible) web application Goalscape Online. If you register for a Free user account you can create one Online project (30 goals maximum) and use it for ever, absolutely free.
All the best
Richard

Hi Richard,
I was using Opera before so I have switched to chrome. I am curious as to
why Adobe Air has to be used at all to be honest. Why not just offer the f*ile
to download directly from your server? *Chrome seems to actually be worse
on my system. At least opera said click to active flash. Flash is installed
on my system but does not display any content in chrome for me.* Could you
please send me the mac install file so that I can start using the trial
with a view to buying the product if it meets my requirements.*
Many thanks.

Hi Richard,
I owe you an apology. The file seems to have downloaded now. Sorry for the
multiple messages. I have managed to download and install the application.
Many thanks.

Hi Lai
Splendid! Thanks very much for letting us know.
Sorry again that the download process did not go smoothly for you at first. You will be pleased to know that we are working on a captive runtime version of Desktop that will make the install independent of the local AIR environment.
Enjoy the journey!
Richard

Hi Richard,
Thanks, I have been using Goal scape and think that its great. Its already
had an immediate impact on me, its helped me visualise the range of tasks
that I am working on concurrently.
I need some help with the app. Its become unresponsive and not allowing me
to make any changes. Please see attached screenshot. Also I noticed
occasional image artefacts below the screen.
Many thanks.
Lai
