Hello Neil
Sorry you have had trouble.
Downloading Goalscape template projects
To download any project template from our Templates page, click the Download button and Save the .gsp file somewhere on your hard drive. If you have trouble using that Download button, right-click it, then select 'Save link as...'.
Please note that when you Save the project, you may need to enforce the '.gsp' suffix on the filename (some OS may try to change it to '.txt' or even '.xml').
Using Goalscape Desktop
You have a Goalscape Desktop perpetual single-user licence, so you can install the Goalscape Desktop app (scroll down to it on the Download page – there are separate installer packages for Windows and Mac computers).
When the Goalscape Desktop app starts you will see the Welcome screen, where you can enter your Goalscape username and password to Activate the installation on that machine, exactly as you have done before.
While the app is running you can Pin its app icon to your Taskbar at the foot of the screen to access it easily (right-click the app icon and select 'Pin to taskbar'). You can also add it to your Start menu in Windows Settings > Programs and Features.
To select Goalscape Desktop as the default app to Open all your .gsp files, find any .gsp project file in your file handler (you can use any template downloaded and saved with the correct suffix), then right-click it and select 'Open with'. If Goalscape Desktop (NB not 'Goalscape') is not already selected, click 'Choose another app', find the GoalscapeDesktop.exe (it should be in C:/Program Files/Goalscape Software/Goalscape Desktop), select it and check 'Always use this app to open .gsp files' before you click OK.
If you have the old Goalscape Desktop (AIR) application installed on that machine, to avoid confusion you can Uninstall that application using Add or Remove Programs (the old version is identified as 'Goalscape' in your Programs, while the new app is called 'Goalscape Desktop').
Any projects you created with previous installations of Goalscape Desktop will be where you saved them on the hard drive of the machine you were using at the time – if necessary you can transfer them to your new machine using a memory stick. They will of course all open seamlessly in the new app.
If there is anything else you need please post again.
Keep achieving great goals, stay safe and have a splendid '21!
Richard
