Copy and paste of goals in web application - notes are deleted
Hi all,
when using copy / paste in the new web application the notes are not copied, neither undo restores them. Please fix it.
Other question: Is it the plan to have the web application with the same functionality like the online version (e.g. background color (screen), import/export, .....) And by when? So far the web version is nice but pretty limited.
Thanks

Hello Stefan
Sorry you have had trouble – thanks for reporting this error.
We are working urgently on a fix – and since this is a webapp we can issue updates really quickly. We'll post here to let you know when this is done.
In the meantime you can still move goals by dragging and dropping them in the goal map (with no risk of losing the Notes content).
Yes: we are indeed intending to recreate most, if not all, of the functionality available in Online – plus some exciting new features, like integrations with third party tools. We know that people have different preferences, so we will run an online poll when it comes to scheduling some of these. Which feature do you want to see in the web app next?
As you may know, you can already Import your existing Goalscape Online projects to the web app (see the video here). And to Import files in other formats (eg CSV) the workaround is to do it via Online: use Upload Other, then download the newly-created project as a .GSP file that you can upload to the web app.
Thanks again for taking the time to send us your feedback.
Richard

Thanks a lot Richard for the prompt feedback.
Looking forward to see the bug fixed and the app evolving.
Currently I miss some export functionality including notes.
And integration of apps sounds very interesting. I am heavily using ToDoist
and the Google Collaboration suite.
So if there would be some connection (not sure in which detail), that would
be cool.
Thanks again and kind regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan
Thanks again for your prompt report of this error – as you will have noticed, we have disabled the right-click C&P functions while we fix it (which we expect to do very soon).
We are also working on the Export facility; and the integrations will come later.
Cheers!
Richard

Hello Stefan
As you may have noticed, with the latest updates we have reinstated the C&P Goal functions in both the Goal Edit (burger) and right-click menus. Sorry it took us so long to fix this – it turned out to be quite complicated (especially when C&P'ing large 'families' of goals)!
And yes, we are definitely going to implement Reporting. It has a 'Next' tag in our development goalscape (along with 'Goal Comments', 'Third party integrations, 'Import CSV', etc). For a full list of 'pending' features, check the Known Issues page.
Cheers!
Richard

Thanks for the update, Richard
Good that there is progress. For the time being I stick with the "old"
online version until there is at least the same functionality in the web
application.
Many thanks and kind regards
Stefan

Hello Stefan
No worries – we will be sure to let you know when we issue any updates with feature enhancements.
When you have a few moments, please could you indicate the key functionality in Goalscape Online (ie essential for your current use) that is not yet supported in the new web app? As a long-time Goalscaper your feedback is especially valuable – and it will help to determine our development priorities.
All the best
Richard
