Hi,
I tried to make a copy of my projects as a backup, but comments did not copied!!!!
So I will lose all comments when I need to use the backup in the future!!!

Please advise
Alfaris

    Hello Alfaris

Yes: we are working on support for a 'Comments Backup' area to contain an archive of previous Comments on a goalscape when you download it. Watch out for our announcements...

    thanks,

    a question about comments please,
When someone write a comment, a timestamp is added. which is very very nice and important.
but when he/she edit the comment...! time stamp remain as original.....! which is so dangerous!!
You can do like Facebook or YouTube, once the comment edited, at least to write next to it, "Edited". so all people can know this was edited. it is optional to ass the timestamp for the time which it was edited. not a major issue, but the main point to let every one know this comment was edited...!

    Thanks,
    Alfaris

Agreed! I like it and I added it to our backlog!

If we would have the complete changelog, it would show there as well...

    Hi Alfaris

We just released another set of updates that include support for archived Comments. When you download a goalscape, any Comments are archived; and when you upload it again they will appear on the relevant goal in a 'Comments Backup' tab.

    Cheers!

    Thank you :)

    and when copy the goals?
this is my request, is when I create a copy (Duplicate) for backup.

    Thanks,

    Hello Alfaris

When you copy any goal that has Comments, then Paste it anywhere (in the same goalscape or in a different one), the 'live; Comments field is also copied.

We are working on extending the Comments Backup facility to downloads in the Web App and I will let you know when that is implemented.

As I mentioned before, for backing up, I click on the project itself and then click duplicate.
this is the easiest and best way now to back up the project. instead of copying goals and subgoals one by one.!

So does this way now copy the comments as well?
Because it was not copy and I lose them all....

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello Alfaris

We are indeed looking at including Comments when you Duplicate a goalscape.

Since most people use the Duplicate function to create templates (taking an existing goalscape to use in a new project, with different collaborators) we are considering offering the option to preserve/delete Comments when Duplicating (as well as Zero Progress, Equalize Subgoals, etc).

    All the best

    Richard
