Re-installing Older version of Goalscape
I originally bought your software in April 2012 from South African agent CHCS cc and installed from Installer Package 16/12/2010. I lost the software when my disk crashed two months ago. The Installer Package cannot be run for some reason. Can you please assist me.
Kind regards
Alan Banister

Hello Alan
Sorry you have been having trouble.
We are happy to say that there is nothing wrong with the GoalscapeDesktop.air installer file. The most likely cause of any download or installation problem is an issue in the local Adobe AIR environment.
The solution is to uninstall and reinstall both Goalscape Desktop and Adobe AIR. Full step-by-step instructions for doing this are on our Known Issues page. Note that when you download the GoalscapeDesktop.air installer file you may need to enforce the '.air' suffix – some environments try to change the suffix to '.zip', which will render it unuseable.
If you are are updating from a really old version (2.7.2 or before), the Registry information from this previous installation may be interfering with the new one. So if problems persist please post again with a screenshot of the Error message (and if there is a 'Show details' button please click it and C&P the full text here). Please also confirm the Operating System (and version) and how you connect to the Internet (direct Ethernet or WiFi or via a LAN). We will give you instructions to clear your Registry.
Lastly, please note that as part of the recent changes, your expired Goalscape Connect subscription has been switched to the new Free User account for Goalscape Online. So you can create or upload one project (30 goals maximum) and share it online with anyone you like (including other Free users). If you want to use and share an online project with more than 30 goals you will need to upgrade your account to Unlimited ($6 per month) here – that will give you the full Unlimited Online functionality.
Keep achieving great goals!
Richard

[image: Inline images 1]Hi Richard
This is a new disk, so I do not have any older registry information on it.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1.
I am attaching an error message I get when I attempt an online activation
with full internet access.
Kind regards
Alan

Hello Alan
Thanks for the screenshot and the additional information.
If you are still seeing that message after you have done the full uninstall/reinstall of Goalscape Desktop and Adobe AIR (as described on our Known Issues page), you may need to update your Windows 7 OS with the latest System Update Readiness Tool (number 06 or number 10 here).
Then you will need to do the uninstall/reinstall again.
The screenshot you sent confirms that the installation has completed: the error you are seeing is at the activation stage. So your installation definitely has some Registry information attached – even if it is not a legacy from the previous installation – and you will need to clear this Registry information before you reinstall. To tell you where to look for it, we need to know how you connect to the Internet (direct Ethernet or WiFi or via a LAN), since that will affect where Windows stores Registry information.
All the best
Richard
