Why is it not available for normal users? Why does it cost a fortune?

Meanwhile there are apps that offer Gantt charts for free like Ganttproject, and are open source.

    Hello Nataru

    Thanks for your post.

At any point during a project, you have to be able to see the 'big picture' and if necessary reassess your priorities according to the relative importance of goals that are competing for your time, money or attention. The reason we developed Goalscape's unique (patented) 'goal map' format was to support this overview in a rich visual format – and to help people to avoid the sort of linear thinking that is represented in a Gantt chart or timeline view.

We recognise that some business users who are familiar with the standard timeline (especially those with a project management background) may wish to use this option. Gantt view is just one of the extra business features included in Goalscape Enterprise, our corporate product for organizations for which data security is a prime concern. Others include per-goal sharing, Change Tracker and additional Admin controls over user views. Goalscape Enterprise customers (including EON, RTL and TOTAL) greatly value on these benefits and are very happy to pay the increased price, especially since Goalscape Enterprise also provides the highest possible data security.

There are more details about Goalscape Enterprise in the attached pdf.

We are indeed aware that there are lots of Gantt tools available (many of which are free). If you wish to see your data this way you can export a 'snapshot' of your Goalscape project data in .csv format and import it into one of these. Most of our users though prefer to maintain the more meaningful and useful goal map view.

If you have not yet tried Goalscape you can register as a Free user here. As a Free user you can create 1 project (30 goals maximum) and share it with as many people as you like.

To work on multiple large projects you can purchase an Unlimited subscription for just $6 per month or $66 per year here. Then you can create an unlimited number of projects of unlimited size and share them with as many others as you wish – you can even give Free users Edit access to your shared projects (1 such large shared editable project per Free user). So you may be able to run a project (or even an entire organization) for the price of just 1 Unlimited subscription!

Or you can download the free trial of the standalone Goalscape Desktop software (PC/Windows or Mac OS X). The lifetime Goalscape Desktop license is just $60 (one-time payment).

    Enjoy the journey!

    Richard
