Is there a way for GoalScape to send email reminder prompts?

I.E.: to remind you what you should be working on today - or what's coming due - if you identify that you want such emails?

    Hello Heather

Thanks for your inquiry – sorry for the delay in responding.

In Goalscape you can see all your current goals (ie those that are Due today – or on any other date) using the Highlight Sidebar; and you can generate a Goal List according to your selections in the sidebar and export it via the clipboard.

You can also access your online projects using the free Goalscape Mobile app (for any iOS or Android phone or tablet). It is a companion app for Goalscape Online that syncs with your online projects to deliver daily goals and tasks to your phone in an indented text hierarchy (similar to the Goal List format).

Goalscape is really visual goal management software rather than a task management tool. We are however investigating ways to provide reminders and alerts by integrating it with third party calendars like Google Calendar.

    Enjoy the journey!

    Thank you Richard.

When I do the export - it doesn’t sort or cull based on due by dates - I get everything. What am I doing wrong?
    I click highlight.
    Select the due by date
It seems to highlight the project / goal in question…
But from there there doesn’t seem to be a way to isolate those tasks or deadlines.
It exports that IMAGE with the highlighted piece of the pie - but then pages of the whole year’s goals.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this it?

    Thank you!

    Hello Heather

There is a difference between the Goal List and Exported Reports.

    • The Goal List (generated according to your selections in the Highlight Sidebar) is a list of goals in an indented text hierarchy. If you have set Dates on your goals you can select 'Show table view' and reorder the list by Start or Due date (or by Name).

If you make selections by Date in the Highlight Sidebar, the Goal List will contain only the goals that fit that selection (those goals will also be highlighted in the goal map). If you are using Focus View, the Goal List will only show the goals in that view that comply with the selections you have made in the Highlight sidebar. You can export the Goal List via the clipboard: click 'Copy to clipboard' then paste the list into any other application (Word, Excel, etc).

    • Exported reports contain all the goals and their attribute information: you can select which fields are to appear; you cannot however select by the content of those fields (eg by Due Date).

If you are using Focus View, you can choose to include only the goals in that view. In the Report Options window (Download As > Show Report Options) for PDF and DOCX reports you can also select which attribute fields you want to include in the report (Notes, Dates, Responsibility, Tag, etc). Uncheck the fields you do not want to appear in the report and check 'Report on Focused View': then when you click 'Apply' the preview will redraw to show the Focused goal name as its title (rather than the project name) – and the preview will display the (reduced) number of pages in the report. Click Export and save the report to your hard drive.

See the attached screenshot of the Goalscape Online screen showing the Goal List (Table View) and Report Options window for a project in Focus View (the miniature at top left shows where the Focused goal is in the main project).

If you have any more questions please post again.

    Enjoy the journey!
