Hello,

My Samsung Tablet cannot show me the web version Goalscape Connect because of Flash incompatibility issue. It would be really useful for someone who has a lot of 'corridor meetings' to have access to the graphical feature. Is this in the pipeline? I have read other posts which mentioned Chromium but I get the same issue with that browser too.

    Hello Donal

Yes: Goalscape Online is a web application, accessed via any major browser on any desktop or laptop computer.

To access your online projects on your Samsung tablet you can use the free Goalscape Mobile app (for all Android and iOS phones and tablets). It is a companion app for Goalscape Online: it syncs automatically to deliver daily goals and tasks in an indented text hierarchy (like the Goal List in the main applications).

The Goalscape Mobile client relies on HTML5, Javascript and Google Polymer; it also uses the latest technologies like Web Components (http://webcomponents.org/). I confirm that we are working on developing this code base into a fully functional 'webapp' that will work on any platform to access both local and remote projects – and sync automatically. Watch out for announcements...

    Enjoy the journey!

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the quick reply. I was referring to being able to see the graphic representation on a tablet not the indented list. I think it would be a great selling point for you. I use my tablet a LOT in my job and being able to show a goalscape graphic would be a massive advantage.

    Best wishes

    Donal

    Hello Donal

Yes: the issue is with the support for Flash applications offered by the standard browsers on tablets; and Flash is essential for the full 'goal map' UI to work properly.

The Goalscape Mobile app uses the indented text hierarchy format, which does not require Flash. The same app (Android or iOS) has to be useable on phones as well as tablets – and most phone screens are too small to display of the goal map UI properly (and legibly!) and to allow full use of the tap and slide interactions (even for those with very small fingers).

You may be able to use the Chrome browser on your Samsung to access the full Goalscape Online web application. If not, try the free Puffin browser: it is really a video streaming app; it does though support Flash and may allow you to access Goalscape Online and use the tap and slide functionality in the goal map.

We will be sure to let you know when we are ready to release the proposed webapp!

    All the best

    Richard
