Is there a way to duplicate a file so I can use it as a template for other projects?

    Hi Donal

Yes: the easiest way to do that is to download the template and re-upload it whenever you want to create a new instance:

    1. Create your (generic) template in Goalscape Online and use a meaningful main goal name like 'XYZ Project Template'.
    2. Download it as a .GSP file and save the file somewhere on your hard drive (see screenshot). The default filename is the main goal name; if you wish, you can change this when you Save the file.
    3. For each specific instance of your project that you want to build, simply re-upload your template .GSP file and (immediately!) change the main goal name (eg include the client name at the start so you can see it in the project tab and find it easily in your User Projects List).
    4. Share the new instance as appropriate.

Note that as an Unlimited user you can give Free users Edit access to your shared projects (1 per Free user). That means that you can share each instance with as many people within each client organisation as you (or they) wish, completely free of charge. Of course, if any of them want to be able to edit multiple projects (or create their own), they will need to buy an Unlimited subscription too.

Many consultants who use Goalscape to present their strategy and define a project for their clients also act as VARs, selling the Goalscape software to their clients as well as their expertise captured in Goalscape format. If you are interested in becoming a VAR just email [email blocked].

    All the best!

    Richard
