App
Hi everyone,
I am using the desktop version here and it works very well. However, why can't I get the same functionalities on the app? The goal circle is the best way to show young sailors their progress in every aspect of sailing, but it's hard to take a computer everywhere I go. Shouldn't it be available on iPads at least? If it's available, I couldn't find the way towards it.
My second point is about the names on subgoals. They keep changing on their own. When I get back to check my work, the goals are reset. Have you experienced this issue?
Thanks,
Gabriel

Hello Gabriel
Welcome aboard! Thanks for the great feedback.
To take your second point first: when you change the name of a goal using the Goalscape Mobile app you need to press Enter (or Return) to 'cement' the change.
If you encounter the same issue (needing to press Return to cement goal name changes) in the main Goalscape Online application, it may be due to a browser issue. Safari has known issues with Flash applications (of which Goalscape Online is one), so we recommend Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Please also make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash Player. In those browsers your goal name changes will be preserved even if you just select a different field or goal (or add another).
The use of the indented text hierarchy format in the Goalscape Mobile app is really due to a physical limitation: most phone screens are simply too small to display the full Goalscape goal map UI and support all its tap and drag functionality – even for people with very small fingers!
On an iPad you can indeed access the full Goalscape Online web application if you use the free Puffin browser (which, unlike the standard iOS version of Safari, supports Flash applications).
On any recent Android tablet you should be able to access Goalscape Online if you use the Chrome browser; or you can use Puffin for Android.
Note that both of these solutions also work on phones; we do not however guarantee the quality of the interaction (it will depend on screen resolution and browser support as well as dexterity), so for Android phones and iPhones we recommend using Goalscape Mobile.
Thanks again for taking the time to post here.
Enjoy the journey
Richard
PS You have a Goalscape Online Unlimited subscription so I presume by 'desktop app' you mean the main web application Goalscape Online, rather than the separate yet compatible Goalscape Desktop standalone software.
