The future of flash and the future of Goalscape?
Hi guys, has there been any further progress on the answer to this discussion (which seems to be closed)? Appreciate it's a significant job, but would like to get a steer on how long we need to persevere with Flash with, which has been long gone.
Love Goalscape btw and would love to be able to encourage more people to use it!
Thx, John.
Question 28th July-----------------
Flash seems to be no longer a 'state of the art' technologie.
Adobe is finally killing flash: https://gizmodo.com/adobe-is-finally-killing-flash-for-real-this-ti...
Chrome will completely remove flash: https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/07/25/chrome-will-completely-rem...
Adobe is telling people to stop using flash: https://www.theverge.com/2015/12/1/9827778/stop-using-flash
What are your thoughts about this situation and what about the future of the desktop version of Goalscape?

Thanks for your inquiry.
We are indeed moving away from dependence on Flash and the browser for the web application Goalscape Online, utilising HTML5 and other technologies for the codebase. This is of course a major undertaking and we cannot indicate any delivery date – watch out for announcements.
We are also working on a captive runtime implementation of the Goalscape Desktop standalone software that will make installation independent of the local Adobe AIR environment.

Hi John
Thanks for your inquiry – and for the great feedback!
I confirm that we are working on the codebase transfer from Flash to HTML5 and other technologies. We use agile development and expect to release a minimum viable product for beta testing early next year. Keep watching out for announcements...
All the best
Richard
PS The original discussion (from c10 weeks ago) to which you are referring is definitely still open – you can find it here: https://goalscape.tenderapp.com/discussions/questions/67086-the-fut...

This comment was split into a new discussion: Integration with Google sheets
Thanks for the very swift reply. Look forward to seeing it. There's probably another thread for this, but I don't suppose you are considering linking the data to anything else? Google sheets, smart sheet etc?
Many thanks, John.
