Clarification Needed: Desktop Synch with Goalscape 3.0?
Hello,
I'm developing a method to use Goalscape with David Allen's "Getting Things Done" (GTD) productivity system.
Currently I am using Goalscape Desktop at home and, at the start of the day, I upload my current desktop .gsp to Goalscape online so I can access the current version from Goalscape mobile. As my day progresses, I add ideas and thoughts to an "Inbox" subgoal, add appointments to my "This Week" or "Future Appointments" subgoals, etc.
When I get home, I then download the .gsp from Goalscape online and "Save As" to overwrite my Desktop .gsp
I've seen closed discussions that seemed to indicate that with Goalscape 3.0, I will not need to do those download-to-upload-to-Save As-Overwrite steps. Is that accurate?
Thank you for any clarifications on this question.
Regards,
Derek

Hello Derek
Yes: Goalscape 3.0 will be a fully cross-platform web app, available on any device.
We will continue to support Goalscape Desktop as a separate product; and we are investigating implementing a captive runtime version that will make it independent of the local AIR environment.
Cheers!
Richard

Thanks for the quick response, Richard, though I'm not sure it answers my
question.
What I need is that, while I am updating my .gsp file with my Desktop app,
the changes will be automatically synced to the online version (and vice
versa). That would mean, whether I work on my app, my browser or my
Desktop app, the same info would be there (without having to
download/upload/save as).
Most simply put, for the way I am working, I want to seamlessly switch
between my desktop app and my mobile app (of course assuming I always have
an internet connection)
Thanks.

Hello Derek
Yes: because Goalscape 3.0 will be fully cross-platform, you will be able to install and run it on any device. It will not be a site you access in a browser (as it is now) and it will not require Flash.
That means you will be able to access and update your projects whether or not you have an internet connection,. So you will no longer need to use Goalscape Desktop when you are offline.
Goalscape Desktop and Goalscape Online will remain completely separate products (though they will still be compatible).
Best
Richard
