Dear GoalScape Team,
could You please advise me if its possible to map the capacity of the resources involved in the projects?
For example: The person X is involved in projects 3, 5, 8 and needs 3 hours per week per project, i.e. 9 hours a week, with a 40 hours week he has 31 hours free for other tasks.
Could such planning work using GoalScape?
Thanks!
Best,
Anna

    Hello Anna

    Thanks for your inquiry.

Goalscape is really a visual goal management solution, rather than a task management or scheduling tool. So for a corporate project, it helps everyone to focus on the goals that each person is working on, not the time they spend working on each one.

The goal map displays the hierarchy of goals in a project (or several different projects as subgoals of the organization's Main Goal). The size of each goal's slice represents its Importance (relative to its neighbors), providing a visual guide to help resource allocation (including time); and shading indicates Progress. So at any point you can immediately see what needs attention: it's any big goal that isn't being filled in.

You can set Start and Due dates on goals, assign Responsibility (to one or more people) and add context-based Tags, then use the Highlight Sidebar to filter goals and generate Goal Lists (and you can of course do this by person).

There is more background about using Goalscape for business projects in the attached pdfs. You may also be interested in Marcus Baur's article Set Goals Like Googlers Do (includes a short video) and Emmett Lazich's Getting Things Done – with or without Dates.

If you have not yet tried Goalscape Online you can register as a Free user – note that this is not a trial, it allows you to create 1 project (30 goals maximum) and share it with anyone you like.

The Online Unlimited subscription allows you to create an unlimited number of Online projects of unlimited size, and share them with anyone you like – you can even give Free users Edit access to large shared projects (1 per Free user).

If there is anything else you need to know please post again.

Enjoy the journey – and stay safe

    Richard
