Hi there

I hope all is well. Given Flashplayer will not longer be supported in Dec 2020 what is going to happen to my existing Goalscape files and projects?
How do I download a copy of my file to my desktop to protect it? Will the online version remain stable and available? Is there a solution for flashplayer going forward and will it affect the functioning of Goalscape?

I really like this software and need to understand it stability and availability for use in December 2020 and beyond.

Please advise

    Hello Monique

    Thanks for your inquiry.

Don't worry – Flash support does not finish until the end of the year (31/12/20) – and the Chrome plugin will continue to work.

We are finishing alpha testing of the new version of Goalscape Online that removes its dependence on Flash and the browser and we are about to release the beta. Watch out for announcements...

If you are concerned you can always download backups of your projects as .gsp files using the 'down from the cloud' button at the top of the screen (see attached screenshot).

Enjoy the journey – and stay safe

    Richard

    Hello Monique

I trust that you received our email announcement last month and that you have managed to install the new Goalscape Online and Goalscape Desktop apps from our Download page (the Online app downloads for Windows and Mac computers are in the upper box there; and the Desktop app ones are in the lower box).

As promised, these new apps have no dependence at all on Adobe Flash Player or AIR, which is why there are separate download packages for Windows PCs and Mac computers.

When the Goalscape Online app starts you can sign in with your Goalscape username and password exactly as you did on the old Flash-based web application; when the Goalscape Desktop app starts you can Activate it at the Welcome screen with the same credentials as you gave done before.

You will just have received an expiry warning (from [email blocked]) for your Goalscape Online Unlimited subscription: that refers to your 'Web Bonus' (the free Online Unlimited 6-month subscription that you received with your Desktop lifetime licence). To maintain full access to all your Goalscape Online projects you will need to purchase a new Online Unlimited subscription ($6 per month or $66 per year) on our website.

If you choose not to renew your Unlimited subscription, on expiry your Goalscape Online account will revert to Free user: you will still be able to run one Online project (and any collaborators will retain their existing access); any other projects will become View-only, for you and for anyone with whom you have shared them.

I confirm that your lifetime use of Goalscape Desktop is of course unaffected by the validity or otherwise of your Goalscape Online Unlimited subscription.

Keep achieving great goals, stay safe – and have a marvellous '21!

    Richard
