Collaborating
I have been using the legacy desktop version for years. One of our teams is testing the web version and so far it is working very well for what we are tryin to accomplish. We do seem to have an issue with collaborating. How long would we expect it to take before seeing changes that a collaborator is making?
Thank You,
Mike

Hello Mike
Thanks for your enquiry – glad you like the new web app!
Right now, you can only share goalscapes in the web app with other web app users. If your contacts already have a Goalscape account they can login with their existing credentials; if not, they can click Register on that screen. After their initial login you will be able to share your goalscapes with them. If they choose not to subscribe when their trial expires, they will still be able to View the shared goalscape.
We are working on the facility to create Free Trial accounts for others simply by sharing goalscapes with them (as supported in the legacy Goalscape Online app). Watch out for our announcements...
When you are working on the same goalscape as another user, you should see their changes (eg updates to the Notes, Importance, etc) appear in real time. And if you both try to update the same field at the same time, only the first one to select that field will be able to update it (everyone else will see a warning popup. If that person is inactive for 10 seconds, someone else will be able to 'take control of' that field and update it.
_Note: in case of any delays updates appearing (eg when you revisit the app after it has been 'asleep') please refresh the browser page to see the latest version saved on the server.
We are also working on a feature to embolden the goal names in the goal map when a collaborator has updated that goal in your absence – in the same way that unread emails are emboldened in your Inbox.
For more details about what is coming next in the web app please see the Current and Future Features page.
Or if I have misunderstood what you are asking here, please post again to clarify.
Keep achieving great goals!
Richard
