I absolutely love this software. I wonder if you could develop a windows file explorer alternative that automatically displays all files in the goalscape hub format, or possibly integrate this as a feature on the desktop version of goalscape.

    Hi Allen

Thanks very much for taking the time to post your suggestion here – and for the great feedback!

In fact you can already do something very like that, using hyperlinks in goal Notes (or Comments) in a Goalscape Online project.

As we move from desktop software and local data storage into more web applications, we are also using more online filesharing solutions like Dropbox and Google Drive. The advantage is that (as for Online projects), everyone sees the same online document (or spreadsheet) and there is no need for version control.

So if you upload your key documents to such a facility (and share them with the relevant people) you can also reflect the folder structure in an Online project: give the goals and subgoals the names of the relevant folders; the bottom-level goals will have the names of the files themselves, with links to those files. Then share that Online project with your colleagues.

Note that you can still share your files with a subset of your project collaborators, or use the File Access facility to grant only View access to some, and Edit access to others. Any such file-based sharing restrictions prevail over project sharing: giving someone project access does not automatically give them access to all the folders and files represented in hat project.

You can create a hyperlink under a block of text in the Notes field; or if you insert the URL in a Comment it will appear as a clickable link.

There are more details about Goalscape Online's functionality in the attached pdf.

Over the next few weeks we'll be sending you more tips for using Goalscape to visualise, work on and achieve your goals – and for sharing projects with others to collaborate with purpose.

Enjoy the journey – and stay safe!
